On the Game of Thrones Tour on Malta, you’ll get the chance to see them all!
This tour offers an exclusive adventure through the most famous Game of Thrones sites on Malta, taking you to areas left out by other tours. What’s more, your tour guides also worked as actors on the production of the TV series. This means that on the Game of Thrones Tour on Malta, you’re in very safe hands!
Many of the sites on this tour will be instantly recognisable to any Game of Thrones fan. One such site is the City Gate that leads into Mdina. This is where Catelyn Stark and Ser Rodrik Cassel rode into King’s Landing, in search of the truth behind Bran’s fall from the tower. This is also where Catelyn and Ned say their final goodbye before Ned meets his untimely end.
Malta’s ancient city of Mdina plays host to many more scenes too. Mesquita Square, within the city, is the site of Littlefinger’s brothel. This is where Ned traces Jon Arryn’s final movements, and where he is betrayed and captured by Jaime Lannister.
But it’s not just scenes from King’s Landing that were filmed on Malta.
Many parts of Daenerys Targaryen’s adventures with the Dothraki featured Maltese backdrops too. One of the most iconic takes place on the Mthaleb Cliffs. This is where we see Khal Drogo’s funeral pyre, into which Daenerys climbs and emerges without any burns, but three dragons instead.
Verdala Palace, the official summer residence of Malta’s president, also makes an appearance in Daenerys’ story. We can see the palace in the background of her first meeting with her betrothed Khal Drogo.
And there are plenty of other locations to visit on the Game of Thrones Tour on Malta too. You’ll get to see the Tower of the Hand, where the Starks stayed during their time in King’s Landing. There’s also Tobho Mott’s Smithy, where Ned discovers Gendry.
With these locations and more, this tour is a unique and fun-filled adventure that can’t be missed!
