Lord of the Rings – Rivers of Middle-earth Tour highlights
As you arrive on the Lord of the Rings – Rivers of Middle-earth Tour you’ll begin by visiting the area of the Gladden fields marshlands, where Isildur first lost the One Ring. You will visit the Ford of Bruinen which is where the Nazgûl pursued Frodo Baggins while he rode away on horseback. Argonath is where you’ll encounter the moment which consists of two statues created in the likeness of Isildur and Anárion.
One of the greatest highlights of the Tour is interacting with the weapons and costumes that were used in the original movies. You can be sure you are handling the real props with their worth equating to a staggering NZ$ 15000! You will be able to wield Eowyn’s Sword, check out the almighty Elvish Blade Sting, and examine Boromir’s Sword. Take a moment to handle Anduril (the flame of the west). Hadhafang also appears in the weapon listing so you can see this too. There are several other weapons to see which include Gimli’s Axe, Herugrim, Aragorn’s Hunting Knife, and The White Knives, providing some fantastic photo opportunities.
A more personal experience will be likely for guests who visit the tour in smaller groups, additionally your tour guide will ensure your experience is interactive and questions surrounding the movie sets are encouraged. You will see a range of “Top Secret” items that were used as part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and these items won’t be available to see anywhere else.
