As you embark on the Lord of the Rings – Vale of Wizards Tour you will get to explore scenes from Fangorn Forest in New Zealand’s Paradise to Isengard in Nan Curinar, the Southernmost valley of the Misty Mountains. You will also discover the Twelve Mile Delta, home to some explosive scenes featured in Ithilien from the Lord of the Rings.
One of the biggest highlights of this tour is a visit to the location where Beorn’s House was built and seen in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. As you arrive at the location of Beorn’s House you will learn how the house was constructed with exclusive behind the scenes’ information. You will get to take photographs of the scenes as well as the weapons that were used in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
New Zealand’s Paradise also featured scenes from Waterhorse, Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and X-Men: Wolverine. The scene where Logan left the facility with his metal frame before shacking up with an elderly couple was a memorable clip filmed in paradise. Your tour guide will be able to provide a wealth of knowledge about all the locations you see on the tour and can go into as much depth as you’d like, this may also include Easter Eggs and behind the scenes secrets.
Nestled in New Zealand’s Aspiring National Park is where you will find Mount Earnslaw, which first featured in the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers. Once you arrive here your tour guide will take you to the nearby restaurant which includes lunch that is fit for a wizard, completely free of charge as part of the tour package.
