Gradac Park / Purple Wedding

The Mediterranean Gradac Park is located near the historic City of Dubrovnik, providing picturesque scenery such as pine-filled parklands and stunning views of the Lovrijenac Fortress and the old town. You reach the main entry point to the park by climbing a set of steps that date back centuries.

This is the location where Margaery Tyrell is set to be wed to King Joffrey, widely known as the Purple Wedding. The outdoor Dubrovnik location was transformed entirely to host everything you’d imagine for a Royal wedding reception. That includes the huge wedding feast, elegant decorations, and as we see during season four, entertainment for the guests in the most unexpected forms. Although the main celebrations for the wedding reception were held in Dubrovnik, the opening ceremony was caught on camera in a semi-permanent set in Belfast.
