Stadlandet in western Norway must have been an easy choice as the filming location for Caladan, the native planet of House Atreides for 26 generations before taking over Arrakis. In Dune, Frank Herbert describes Caladan as an ocean world, and the filmmakers found plenty of that around the peninsula Stadlandet, surrounded by fjords and located between the North Sea and the Norwegian See.
The much awaited latest take on Dune by Denis Villeneuve featuring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson and Oscar Isaac is not scheduled to hit the theaters before October 2021, but we have already picked out the first filming locations in preparation of some Dune themed tours (see the tour map below).
Unfortunately, we haven’t found any local tour operators to organize this tour yet, but we’re still looking. If you are or know a high-quality tour operator visiting Dune filming locations, please fill out this contact form. In the meantime, you might hop into your car with a few fellow fans and visit the below locations.
Fill out the price enquiry form to get notified when this tour is running. This might also help us to convince a tour operator to run this tour.
